I have minimal skills when it comes to embroidery, but Ruthi provided the perfect level of instruction and tools to get me started on my embroidery portrait. Looking forward to another class!

Just finished up a wonderful afternoon with Ruthi creating hand embroidery on photographs! I went into this knowing nothing about embroidery and after this class I definitely felt like I got a great intro lesson to this cool expressive art form. Ruthi printed out our photos onto fabric which was amazing. After showing us many examples for inspired and some very basic embroidery stitches she gave us an opportunity to practice and make up some of our own free styling stitches! I was kind of intimidated about going in knowing nothing but Ruthi made it all easy and relaxed. All materials were great and the atmosphere/ vibe was friendly and creative. I can’t wait to continue my embroidery on photos experience!

This was my third time taking a class with Ruthi, and each time I have more fun. Even my 7 year old got jealous cause mom had an art class and she didn’t get to join. Highly recommend for ANYONE!

I have no artistic skills yet I now have an original piece of art I'm proud of. And I had the best time creating it.

We ran across a Facebook thread that had mentioned Ruthi, and since we felt like we wanted to exhaust every possible means of help in our HSPVA Visual Arts audition, we decided to schedule a consult. Ruthi came to our house, was very realistic about what pieces were good to go as-is, which needed some work, and what needed to be done from scratch. She had a lot of great advice on what HSPVA was probably looking for and how to build variety into the audition portfolio.

We ended up getting a couple of the 5-lesson packages over the subsequent few months. Ruthi came to the house, was great about communicating times and expectations, brought her own supplies for our kid to try out, and was a great teacher of different techniques to our kid who had pretty much focused on one or two media beforehand.

We ended up getting a callback, and she even met with us for a class on what to expect at callbacks and what strategies and techniques could be used there.

At the end of the day, we got the offer and are delighted to now be part of the HSPVA Visual Arts program. We 100% would not have produced as good of an audition package without Ruthi. If you are considering HSPVA, I cannot recommend starting your audition work ASAP, and the sooner you can involve Ruthi the better.

My mom and I had such a wonderful time in Ruthie’s Sacred Heart Mixed Media Art Class! Ruthie’s patience, creativity, and warm teaching style made the experience truly special. She provided an incredible variety of fun art supplies, allowing us to explore different textures and techniques while bringing our unique visions to life. The atmosphere was relaxed and we loved the comradery and encouragement from the group, making it easy to tap into our creativity. It was such a meaningful way to spend time together, and we left feeling inspired. Highly recommend this class to anyone looking for a fun, artistic experience.

This class is so much fun!! The different techniques really let you experiment and the colors are beautiful. This was my second time taking flowy abstracts and it is definitely worth taking more than once!

I know when I invite people to take one of Ruthi’s many amazing classes some people tell me they aren’t artistic.. While any of Ruthi’s classes are for every kind of skill and ability… this class in particular lets you immerse yourself in the creative experience without fear of mistake. There is a playfulness and ease to the Flowy Abstract class that leaves you feeling fulfilled and lighter. And your final products will be beautiful in their own unique way. Also it is Truly inspiring seeing the work of your peers . Ruthi ‘s demo and instructions will guide you through this process in the most loving and supportive way.

As with all of Ruthi's classes, the students usually have a relatively equal balance of "new blood" and "repeat offenders." Regardless of the makeup, I have always found her classes to be warm, welcoming, and a safe place to explore new techniques, materials, and media and create.

...and I mean that in the very best way! Ruthi has collected so many fabulous beads, baubles, and spacers that the most challenging part of the class is committing to your materials and getting started.

I've done this class twice, and I came away from both classes with beautiful pieces I wear regularly. Ruthi's explanation and demonstration of the techniques involved are accessible regardless of your experience level.

This is rapidly becoming one of my favorite classes! I love the variety of materials, textures, and endless possibilities, and Ruthi is fantastic at making everything accessible and fun.

As with all of Ruthi's classes, the students generally have a relatively equal mix of "new blood" and "repeat offenders." Regardless of the composition, I have always found her classes welcoming and a safe environment for exploring new techniques, materials, and media while creating.

The number of returning students says a lot about Ruthi's teaching style. I don't consider myself especially "arty," but she takes the time to explain the techniques and materials involved before you begin creating and is entirely accessible during the process to guide or assist you. She makes an effort to understand your project and leverages her years as both an artist and a teacher to tailor her suggestions to your specific project vision.

This was my third class with Ruthi and it was so much fun! It’s a great way to try out different styles of art and equipment or media you’ve never used before. Ruthi is such a great instructor, and is always positive and encouraging. She can help you find a way to bring your idea to life, or help you find ideas or inspiration. The groups are always great, like minded people who are encouraging and helpful. People with all skill levels too

This was such a fun and unique way to create art! I loved playing around with all of the different techniques and ways to make my flowers. Ruthi gives you everything you need to make your piece a success and guides you along the way. Taking her classes is one of my favorite ways to relax, unwind and let my creative juices flow. .

Ruthi makes it so easy to understand color theory and how to use all of the tools to create your very own abstract art. I have my pieces displayed all over my home and I often get compliments on them. I will continue to sign up for this one every time I am available!
